Greeting from Beaver State!
We are in some seriously cushy digs, y'all. I'm looking out the panoramic picture windows at a view of lake and trees and there is just goodness all around. The house we've rented for the next few weeks is HUGE compared to my own little bunglaow. We even have TWO toilets! TWO TOILETS, people! This is the lap of luxury.
Oh and there's a couple of flat screened tvs and a pool table. But what really has me stoked is the two toilets.
We've had a mostly fun trip so far. We hung with Bebe and her man and her incredible handsome/sweet/charming 4 AND A HALF (as he will tell you) boy. Tall Girl is so in love with that boy she calls out his name in her sleep. So sweet!
We had a super fun double date where we went to a winery and watched one of my very favorite bands in the world play (Pink Martini!) while we drank wine, nibbled on goodies and hot air balloons floated by. It was like we were living in a postcard. The mister said the next morning "it was so great to see you so happy last night!"
Our other plans were to see Initial Girl and Sandal Boy. We miss them so very much. We did get a nice long visit with Initial Girl but only got to see Sandal Boy briefly. He has MS and it's just shocking to us how quickly it's progressing.
We also had time for a short visit in PDX with an old friend of mine from grad school. The last time we visited with him, his wife was 7 months pregnant with their daughter (and we'd flown up for a possible adoptions situation) so it was great fun to see our daughters playing together.
Then we loaded up the car and headed down the coast! Now we're adjusting to life here and we're just going along for the roller coaster ride the next few weeks are likely to bring.
Sydney's mom and sisters are in town and we're so glad she has support! As soon as Tall Girl wakes up from her nap we're off to meet up with everyone and have some fun this afternoon.
Baby boy seems to be staying put for now. Sydney has another appointment on Monday and she'll likely induce at the end of next week if he's too comfy where he is. There is some drama on the biodad side of things and I'm trying to figure out what and how to write about all of that here. Let's just say for now that Beaver State has interesting laws that come down very much in favor of Sydney and what she wants to do.
We've been thinking of you guys, hoping it was going well. Glad to hear you're getting a nice vacation out of it.
Good luck to Sydney in the days ahead. (and you as well)

Sounds like you're having a great time, and good that you have a lot of friends (and toilets) to distract you right now!
Baby boy is surely getting ready for his grand entrance. Fingers crossed.

Lol that you're so excited about the two toilets. I hope you have a good time and that things go well for everyone involved.

Sounds like things are mostly going well! And you're right about two toilets. Hope the drama isn't too dramatic.

I've had a total brain fart and have forgotten to check in here for like 3 posts now!! so behind.
But I am so happy all is going mostly smooth and so, so hope that all continues in that direction. But seriously, NEXT WEEK?!?! That is way too exciting. You will LOVE being a boy mamma. Trust me because, you may recall my anxiety over being a girl mamma and well, that little girl is the greatest that has ever happened to me. I actually like shopping for boy clothes more - the girl stuff is so overwhelming to me.
Happiness all around and everything crossed that this keeps going smoothly and drama is not drama at all. :)
