So I wrote this lovely update of a post from the snazzy business center of the posh hotel right by the new airport in Bangkok. I paid for an hour and thought I had plenty of time. You know where this is going, don't you?
I thought I had two minutes left when I pressed the lovely publish now button. That's when my post got eaten and I lost all. I also got a talking to by the mister because he needed 5 minutes to send one email and I'd selfishly hogged all the time. Why didn't he understand there were a couple of internet friends I needed to check in on?
So here's a recap of that post:
- Long flight with horrible food. Absolutely zero leg room. Bad movies. Blech.
- Connected to another long flight with even worse food. Couldn't even see the horrible movies.
- Note to self: pay the extra moolah and don't fly the friendly skies to Asia. Japan Airline, sure, Singapore Air in a heartbeat, the one we ended up on? Never again.
- We did get to fly with the bride and groom and that was very nice.
- We saw friends of our friend, Aimee, but they were too stressed to talk to us. They're moving to BKK for a couple of years.
- We had a loooooovely few hours in a cushy king-sized bed that got the kinks out.
- We met up with our Thai travel agent, recommended by our good friend, Pocket, and she's a lovely woman. It turns out she's very close to the bride's parents and will be at the wedding. Small world!
Now we're on a beach in the south of Thailand. The water is warm. The people are friendly. The food is amazing. We've slept and slept and slept. Today we're exploring the island on a motorbike. The mister's driving skills are a bit rusty so I made us stop for a cold beverage and some cheap internet. I think I'm fortified and can continue on.
Back to my tough vacation life. There is snorkeling in my future and many cheap massages on the beach.
I hope all my Bay Area gals are surviving the rain. I hope everyone else is surviving holiday planning.
hey travelers! LOVED having breakfast with you guys and can't wait for your return. the weather here is on the high side of sucky... cold, rainy, and wet. take care of each other and relax and have a good time!

Are you back yet? It's going to rain again tomorrow, if you're not, don't come back yet. I've posted some music on my blog if you want to check it out, a little gift to my readers. I'm insanely jealous!
