I'm very happy to report that I've half-way quit my job. I know I was shooting for all-the-way but I'm an optimist (HA!) and trying to look at this particular glass as being half full.
I realized that I procrastinated giving notice for so long that I've only got about 3.5 weeks left on my contract. I said I had to go to no more than 3 days on-site a week beginning next week due to medical reasons. Some weeks it might be 2 days. I might not be able to give much notice on some of the days off I need. Or we'd have to look at moving up my contract end date dramatically.
My manager, and friend, was super supportive and said he'd do anything he could. He'd love it if I could work part-time from home on those other 2 days, depending on my appointments. He said the sweetest words of all: I'll make it happen. And I'll talk to our chief.
Woo hoo! What a relief! Unemployment here I come. Well, halfway.
YAY! Good for you! I'm glad that they are being cooperative.

Hey Millie - well done! I did it too a couple of months back and never looked back.
