I just got some bad news about a friend. She's been admitted to the hospital with a cervical ectopic. The docs are all taking this very very seriously, as they should. Apparently they don't know too much about this kind of ectopic. So they're getting all schooled up at the same time. She's in good hands and seems to be in good spirits but this is very scary. I hope that continues but think it might be more than a bit of shock. Please think good thoughts for her. This just sucks. I'm so pissed at the universe and worried for my friend and her man.
I know some of you have lots more info on this kind of ectopic. I've done a bit of reading lately because this is now one of the only kinds of ectopics I can have. How did my friend get my karma? It's definitely not hers. The universe missed on this one. Susan? Lynette? Bueller? Can you send it to me, pretty please?
Thanks in advance,
a thoroughly pissed off millie
UPDATED TO ADD
My friend does read the blog, from time to time, so she will see your good wishes. She doens't have wifi in her hospital bed (how unfair is that?) but I will let her know. I know how much it will mean to her. I should come up with a nickname for her, shouldn't I? Hmm, Secretly Spanish is taken (and she's nothing like that) and Grrl always had the best aliases, didn't she? Ok. How about The Designer? I think that's what she'll be.
Cervical ectopic??? WTF??? That is just insane! Tell your friend my thoughts are with her, as I am sure she needs all positive thoughts she can get.
Gosh this just SUCKS.

I've only heard of this ectopic, but I guess it's one of those things that so rare to have. It doesn't make it suck any less though. I'm so sorry for your friend.

I wish I had some info for your, but I didn't know such a thing was even possible! My thoughts are with your friend.

Oh, man. That just SUCKS. I am so hoping she will be okay. I am glad that she is under care.
As you know, I have way too much experience with ectopics, so here goes:
Cervical ectopics are very, very dangerous. Because there is such a large blood supply to the area, they are difficult to remove surgically. They often require a hysterectomy to resolve.
I am hoping that your friend will respond to methotrexate and/or a D&C to end the ectopic, and that it does not rupture or require more drastic measures.
Please give The Designer and her partner my consolences. I am sorry she is going through this. To not only lose her baby, but to be put into the type of medical peril is so difficult.

Oh wow, this sounds awful. I didn't even know this was possible.
It sounds like such a very dangerous situation.
My prayers, and very best wishes go out to your friend. I will check in to see how she is doing.

That's scary. So, so scary. I'll be thinking of your friend, the Designer, which makes her sound like a super hero. A good thing, methinks.

Will be thinking about your friend!

I am so very sorry to hear this. Having been on the shitty end of the statistics with the ovarian ectopic and the possible loss of an ovary, I know how devastating it is. Please send your friend my very best wishes and hopes for a successful non-surgical outcome.

Please give The Designer and her man my best. I've never heard of this kind before. I don't have any assvice for a change. Just that this sucks and I'm so very sorry.
I would probably be in shock too. Glad she has such a good friend to be there for her when the shock wears off.

Sorry to hear that your friend is going thru something as awful as this.
I can't say I've heard much about this type of ectopic - but it sounds horrendous.
Hope everything goes well for her, and the drugs do the trick.

Any updates on your friend? Hoping that she is OK, or as "ok" as possible in this awful situation.
