It's just a flesh wound.
I've got things to say but no time to say them. Work is taking up all of my time (and then some). It was nice to be back there yesterday (was it really only yesterday) and I survived a very long day. A very nice colleague drove me to work and the mister picked me up (he had a meeting down that way). I was able to get loads done but there is now way I could have driven to and fro on my first day. Or, as it turns out, on my second. I'm hoping the third day is the charm.
I'd forgotten how much I love being in a high tech/start-up environment. I'm not doing the most interesting work but man oh man this is a great place to be. The last couple of contracts I did were at a staid old bank and an incredibly bureaucratic hmo. Yay for a tech company!
And yay for a tech company with free coffee bars IN EVERY BUILDING. That's 7 coffee bars, people. Can you say non-fat, sugar free vanilla, iced double latte three times? FOR FREE. I see an addiction buidling.
But now, I must get to sleep. My body still needs more rest that normal and these 13 hour days are rough.
Free coffee bars sound terrific. I don't think I've heard of such a thing before.

I'm jealous of the coffee bars. Although I dont' think I could restrict myself to non-fat, no sugar. Glad you're on the mend.

Oh man, my mouth is watering at the sound of all those coffee bars and free! Try and take it as easy as you can when not at work, eh?

Yay to you for going back to work!
Wow-a 13 hour day? I am exhausted just thinking about it. But I suppose the coffee bars help... a lot! :-) Caffeine is the best. I still haven't been able to give it up.

Glad you are feeling better and back to work. Oh.... do those coffee bars serve anything besides coffee? If there were sweats I would be in BIG trouble.

Oh yeah, I miss the good ol' days too sometimes. I didn't have a free coffee bar, but we did have lots of nice meals on various clients tabs (we just picked them at random...kidding!). Subsidized dry cleaning...This was at the big place I worked at before I went to school.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling well enough to be working, and that's great that it's going well (even after one day). I'm fantasizing about the free designer coffee...

That's what I call distraction! Though I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.

High tech rules! One place I worked at had a giant tube that you could slide down to get from the second floor to the lobby. Another place's engineers built a replica of the GG Bridge in beer cans across the span of 4 cubicles. Ah, the 90s, I miss them. I think you probably aren't fully recovered enough to do a 13 hour day, my dear, please take care of yourself.

Hi, Mil. Popping in to see how you are doing and to let you know I'm thinking of you.

Thirteen hour days!?!?!? I knew those Purple People Eaters would work you to death. That place runs on sugar and caffeine (that's why the stuff is free ;-)
Glad to hear you're enjoying the place otherwise!

Good. Work is good (in its own perverse way). And so are endless non-fat, sugar free iced vanilla lattes. Please take care of yourself, though. 13 hours days are a bit, ok, a lot much.

How did I miss this Spamalot reference in the title? You know I bought the soundtrack while in the theater.
Glad to hear that things are going well for the working woman!
