So now the first of the waiting periods begins. I'm hoping this is a short one.
I sent the letter to the donor agency last night to pass along to our donor! Then I was so excited I couldn't sleep. All I could do was research Cape Town and safaris and cheap airfares.
I heard this from the donor coordinator this morning:
I have sent your letter to Sophie*. We will hear from her soon!
Her last donation resulted in a pregnancy.
This is a very exciting decision for you, congratulations!
Now we wait. I can't even begin to describe the feeling of relief in finally being firmly on this path. It's incredible to have something so positive to look forward to regarding all this. It's been a looooooooong time since I had that feeling.
How shall I pass the time? The suggestion box is now open.
*I decided to blog-name the donor Sophie after a goddess of creation.
Congrats Millie on being in this new waiting period.
I'd pass the time as you are, researching safaris and nice hotels in SA. That's always fun.

How to pass the time? Write more blog entries, watch movies, read books, go shopping for baby clothes, go work out in order to get in shape for pregnancy, search for donor gifts to take to CT, research safaris . . . Do anything! The waiting can be crazy. It is easier to be a recipient than it is to do an IVF with your own eggs, so that is something to look forward to.
How exciting! Hoping all goes well for you from here on out.

Can I just say I love how so many of your entry titles are musical?
Yay for making your decision and starting down the path! Isn't it a relief? I'm so excited for you.
Wessell and Ann had some good suggestions to pass the time. Except if your husband is like mine he will not let you go shopping for baby clothes because he doesn't want to jinx anything...

Hmm, watching a few more musicals on DVD? Reading that big hefty tome you meant to read when it was first published but haven't yet got round to? I second the exercise - walking and appreciating the change in weather works for me. Cooking? That's good when I'm feeling creative.

How exciting that things are moving along! A proven donor is wonderful, too, that should make the process go a lot more smoothly.

Wait a minute! Somehow, despite carefully reading everything, I might add, I missed something. So, it's donor egg in S. Africa? More details please.
Wishing you tons and tons of luck.

Nevermind, dear. I see what I missed.
Now this is exciting. Can't wait. I hope you can blog from S.A. or I will simply lose my mind waiting for the details.

Wow, that is exciting. Sophie was my baby name of choice for the last twenty years, until about two years ago, when it got outrageously popular. I will be watching your cycle closely, as I just sent an email to Renew in SA yesterday, for "fun." Please write about every detail! I have to admit, I'm thinking about throwing in an extra DE cycle down there without a GC. Hmmnnn...
