when you got it, flaunt it

There is just the faintest glimmer of something I haven't really seen in a very long time.

I'm sure you're probably thinking it's hope or optimism or happiness or something like that.

Oh, it's better. Right now you have to hold it in just the right light and look very hard but it's definitely there.

Ok, stop thinking what you're thinking. Not that, silly reader.

It's a cheekbone. A real honest-to-goodness cheekbone. On my face. Just a shadow, a mere slip of a contour but it's there. Can you believe it? The puffiness caused by the long month on steroids is finally going away. I'm hoping the puffiness associated with the baked goods will also disappear but that might be too much to ask for at this point.

This weekend the mister and I are headed out of town. We're going to a really, really small wedding. I've got new threads to wear, right down to some awesome new blue shoes, and new bronzer to boot. I will be making the most of these cheekbones.
