Hello...Hello... Is there anybody out there? If so, I'm totally impressed. If not, I completely understand.
I am such a loser these days when it comes to blogging. I supposed I should come up with some excuses at least. Let's see...how 'bout the dog ate my blog? I forgot my own password? I've been too busy completely immersed in the bike race in France and unable to talk about anything else?
Oh, wait. That last one is true. Do you have any idea of how many professional cyclists twitter? TONS! I broke down and finally joined Twitter so I could follow my one true love favorite sprinter of all time. Did y'all watch the tour?
I have completed my time working for Big Pharma and am currently focused on baking and getting stuff done around the house. I thought I'd have a couple of more weeks to enjoy my life as a lady who lunches but apparently I'll start with some new paid projects in a couple of days.
I'm still training like crazy and have completely lost my mind and signed up for a three hour spin class/fundraiser ON MY BIRTHDAY. I have also tried to schedule a massage for later that day so I'm not completely bonkers (though the mister believes I've truly gone round the bend).
Let's see. Any other news?
Hm, well we are "in play" as the folks in our adoption service like to say. We have been getting lots of phone calls and emails. It's actually getting hard to keep them all straight much less come up with fake names for them. Here are a few of the more interesting possibilities that didn't work out:
- Identical twin boys in Texas
- Expectant teen in Seattle who lives very close to Bebe and Initial Girl/Sandal Boy
- Expectant college gal who is loves her Food Network and wanted her kid to travel and cook
- Mom of expectant college gal in midwest who adored our website but didn't want to have to ever talk to agency/lawyer/anyone and wanted to keep everything "completely private"
- Expectant mom in SoCal who shared my love of a certain surfer musician and love of voting
I suppose we could hear back from some of those but it's really great just to be getting contacted so frequently.
I did say we are "in play" and it's much like dating multiple people. We're currently talking with folks in 3 situations. We aren't officially matched but trying to get more information and do some relationship building in all three situations. They are all due at about the same time (mid November through early December) so we have some time to get to know them but not loads and loads of time like that NHL situation.
There are some complicating factors in each of the situations so I think my next post might be asking for information/assvice about all the complicating factors, perhaps without relating to any situation in particular. For right now, we like all of these women/situations for various reasons. Two of them seem the most promising so we'll just have to see how it all plays out.
And last but not least: The nickname for the Head Banger (and every time I type that I hear it exactly as he would say it in his lovely Scottish tongue) came from his mad musical skillz irl and in Rock Band and his entirely black wardrobe. NOT from any incidents of banging of heads in a non-musical fashion. That is all. ;)
